The Salvation Army Rose Center for Seniors 

The Rose Center, a senior center operated by The Salvation Army Tabernacle Corps, is a unique program where adults age 55 and over meet for meals, socialization, activities, special events, educational groups, trips and tours, and opportunities to volunteer. With a history of serving the Portland Metropolitan area for over 44 years, the Rose Centers continues to be a strong, positive influence in the community.

Seniors enjoy the opportunity to join with others around the lunch table for good conversation and a nutritious meal which is prepared in-house Monday through Friday. Every day there are activities to enjoy, which are offered for a small donation or charge for supplies. A variety of trips and tours are offered throughout the year, with all arrangements paid for in advance. Each month the newsletter provides detailed information on upcoming tours, the lunch menu, and activities.

An important feature of the Rose Center is the volunteer program. There are many opportunities for seniors to use their skills and interests. The kitchen, dining room, front desk, rummage sale, bus trips, and newsletter preparation are all staffed by volunteers.
